No Bad Trips

our ‘no bad trips’ design is a tribute to the original hippie movement from the 60s, which is widely considered as the precursor to the crazy, trippy designs that streetwear in the 70s was born and brought up with. this era was also responsible for some of the greatest music, art and peace movements in all of history!

who’s on the bicycle? Albert Hofmann, the scientist responsible for A$AP rocky’s 2nd best song. on April 19th 1943 while working on a new type of medicine, he accidentally absorbed some of the unfinished product through his skin. thinking nothing of it, he headed back home on his bicycle. what followed was the most eventful bike ride ever.

“kaleidoscopic, fantastic images burst in upon me, opening and then closing themselves in circles and spirals. exploding in coloured fountains, rearranging and changing themselves constantly” he later wrote in his memoir.
why was this substance banned? well it’s a strong drug that alters your cognitive and motor functions. can cause long term brain damage if abused, and under its influence could lead to various issues, injury or even death.

thankfully none of those points are relevant to alcohol. so it might be that psychedelics are banned for some other reason. it’s interesting to think optimistically about where we might have been as a species if they were never taken away
perhaps wage slavery and exploitation of cheap labour for profit wouldn’t be normalised. maybe some people would be less inclined to hate one another based on skin colour or religion.

there are many countries looking into psychedelics as a solution for therapy regarding anxiety, depression and PSTD. our country is nowhere near that stage, so as always it’s important to respect the law and its view on the subject. artistic expression is still legal though!
